Nothing

I admit that I like the distractions. They’re really nice, actually. Shopping for clothes that fit nicely feeds your blood and you give yourself (not necessarily your mirror reflection) a quick nod and think Yes. This’ll do. Well-done (and maybe a “Go get ’em!” <- but you wouldn’t actually say it.) What’s better is that no money was really spent. Gift certificates are charming because they make you appear that you’re going shopping because somebody else advised you to. “I’m not here because I want stuff, I just have this card that has your fancy red logo on it and I always accidentally pull it out at the ATM.” I won’t wear those dresses yet. I want to, but …too soon, you know? Too I don’t-know-what.
